Carpenter Ant Control in Andover, MA

Andover is known for its conservation lands, Shawsheen River, and wooded neighborhoods, creating the damp wood conditions that carpenter ants prefer. Carpenter ants are a relatively large ant species that builds their nests in wood — particularly decayed or moisture-damaged wood. Over time, they can tunnel into healthy structural wood as well, leading to costly repairs if left untreated.

Signs of a Carpenter Ant Infestation

• Sawdust-like frass near windowsills, door frames, or baseboards

• Large black or dark-colored ants (often 1/2 to 5/8 inch) inside your home

• Faint rustling sounds inside walls, especially at night

• Soft, hollow-sounding wood when tapped

How We Eliminate Carpenter Ants

Our technicians will inspect your Andover property to locate the nest — including satellite colonies — and apply targeted treatment to eliminate the entire colony. We also identify moisture issues that attract carpenter ants in the first place, helping you prevent future infestations.

Carpenter Ant Prevention Tips

• Fix leaky pipes and reduce moisture in basements and crawl spaces

• Keep firewood stored at least 20 feet from your home

• Trim tree branches away from your roofline

• Seal cracks and gaps in your home’s exterior
